Help Replace this Latrine at Mirabalais, Haiti’s High School
On July 1, 2014, I begin my year as District Governor of the 54 Rotary Clubs in the western half of South Carolina. The Rotary Club of Mirebalais, Haiti, which has been the host Rotary Club that has helped us with the vocational school, has asked us to help them create a sanitation system for their local high school. We are teaming up with the Learning Center to complete this system. The picture above indicates the atrocious unsanitary conditions that the students now face daily at the school. This year to gain visibility for this admirable effort I am participating in the Miracle Hill Metric Century Cycling Challenge on June 7 involving a 62 mile bike ride through the mountains of South and North Carolina. We want to raise $7,500 that will be matched with Rotary District and Foundation funds to meet the $30,000 cost of the proposed sanitary system. I would appreciate your joining our effort by contributing a tax deductible gift of $50 or more.
